While there is one Gospel (the 'good news' story of Jesus Christ), it can find expression wherever people and their cultures are open to the spirit of Jesus Christ.
The church recognises that there are many elements in other world religions that resonate with Gospel values. Wherever goodness and holiness is found in humankind, the Church affirms this. Catholics believe that the work of our Church is to continue the work of Jesus.
The Church does not pretend to have perfectly actualised all that its faith proclaims. However, Christians believe that, ultimately, the Christian commitment is the only framework through which this is possible.
We believe that we have received a gift from God, and we seek to share it so that others may know of God's love for the world.
Catholics believe that God still speaks to us through the Church that his Son, Jesus, began so long ago. We see our Catholic church as 'the people of God'. That is why, for us, the Catholic Church is 'the one church'.
