Anyone can be Catholic who has 'faith' in God and Jesus, and wants to be part of the Catholic Church.
It makes no difference how someone came to be a Catholic. Catholics can be people who:
- Have no religious background, and decide to become Catholics.
- Come from another religious tradition, and decide to become Catholics.
- Once were Catholics, and return to the Church.
- Have always been Catholics.
Three special ceremonies make someone a Catholic:
- Baptism (in any Christian church)
- Confirmation in the Catholic Church
- Welcoming at the Eucharistic table
If you are thinking about becoming a Catholic, you may want to find out more before you make your decision.
